In a gesture of gratitude and respect for the work of Napa Valley Hospice & Adult Day Services, the Rombauer family – Koerner, Sandy, KR and Sheana – has donated a monumental $1,000,000 challenge gift in support of the organization’s Legacy of Compassion campaign. The campaign raises funds to complete the funding of the organization’s expansion to its current building on South Jefferson Street in Napa and will seed an endowment to keep the building operational.
The challenge was created as a one-to-one match, so that every contribution of $500.00 or more will be matched by the Rombauer family, up to a total of $1,000,000.
In presenting the extraordinary gift, Koerner Rombauer said “The work that Hospice does in the Valley is something that no one can truly understand until you experience it for yourself. Helping to guarantee that Hospice will be here for all of us is something that I, and my family, want to ensure. We all believe in our hearts that Hospice was the greatest gift that Joan had during her final memories. They are all angels.”
Funds raised to date against the total $9.5M goal have come from individuals, foundation and corporate gifts. The Rombauer Family Challenge represents the last push toward the goal and allows the campaign to initiate its public phase with great enthusiasm and excitement.
The organization’s President/CEO, Linda Gibson, states “Koerner Rombauer has been a major supporter of the organization over many years. Having already donated in the six figures, he truly realizes how critical the campaign is to our long-term viability. The Rombauer family’s commitment to our annual gala and other efforts over the years makes them all treasured partners. We couldn’t be more grateful. This is an extraordinary gift to us, and in turn, to the entire Napa Valley.”
