Bob’s early career began as a Registered Nurse in the United Kingdom. Moving into the medical device industry, working for such large organizations as Baxter International and Medtronic Inc., he was able to gain a wide understanding of both international business and global health care models, while working in the UK, Europe, Canada, the USA and the Middle East. A foray back into healthcare delivery in the early 1990s saw Bob heading up a large public hospital in the UK National Health Service. This eventually led him to a role as US President and CEO of Huntleigh Healthcare, based in New Jersey and headquartered in London.
In his capacity as CEO, he found that his personal passion for hospice mirrored that of the parent company and when business took him to Napa Valley, a relationship with Napa Valley Hospice & Adult Day Services soon flourished. In 2008, Bob was asked to join the board of directors at Napa Valley Hospice & Adult Day Services. He describes his hospice experiences as inspiring and heartwarming. His commitment to Hospice is unwavering. As Vice Chair of the Legacy of Compassion Campaign, Bob’s leadership provides inspiration and caring in the most important ways.
